A Few Things Worth Knowing
Electric heaters are a popular choice for outdoor barrel saunas — they offer consistent, controllable heat and are well-suited to year-round outdoor use. Wood-burning heaters are also available for those who prefer a more traditional, ceremonial warmth. The right choice depends on your outdoor setup, local regulations, and how you prefer to experience the ritual of heat.
Most outdoor barrel saunas rest on a level surface such as a deck, gravel bed, patio pavers, or a prepared concrete pad — no permanent foundation is typically required. Assembly is completed by the customer using the components provided. We recommend reviewing the specific product dimensions and assembly requirements before selecting your placement.
Barrel saunas are well-suited to cold-climate use — their curved cedar or thermo pine construction naturally manages condensation and thermal expansion, supporting durability through seasonal changes. Many owners find the contrast of cold outdoor air and interior warmth to be among the most restorative aspects of the experience. Selecting a model with quality insulation and a reliable heater is especially important if you plan to use yours through winter.

About Our Steam Saunas
Outdoor steam saunas are the defining element of the modern backyard sanctuary — a dedicated space where warmth, stillness, ritual, and architecture converge. Rooted in Nordic bathing tradition, today’s outdoor saunas have evolved into refined wellness fixtures suited to a wide range of environments, from compact cedar barrels tucked beside a garden to larger cabin‑style structures designed for two or more.
When selecting an outdoor steam sauna, consider the primary construction material. Cedar and thermo‑modified pine are valued for their natural resistance to moisture and their ability to withstand seasonal temperature shifts. You’ll also want to look at heater type, interior capacity, roofing, and how the structure will contribute to your outdoor space.
A well‑chosen sauna offers more than heat. It becomes a grounding focal point for the yard and you — an invitation to return to yourself.
